The amount of real estate transactions totalled 18 billion kroons in 2009 which is about half of what it was in 2008 and four times less than what it was in 2006, says Tõnu Toompark who follows real estate statistics.
26,550 real estate sales and purchase transactions were concldued in 2009. This is 23% less than in 2008.
On the upside, in annual terms, the number of real estate transactions in the fourth quarter was 13% higher than in the fourth quarter of 2008. Overall, the number of transactions in 2009 was 2.4 times less than in 2005 and 2006.
According to Toompark, the market seems to be turning around and prices have fallen to the level that is attractive to a growing number of buyers.
