31 447 sales of real estate units were recorded in 2010, according to the Statistics Board. The total value of these contracts was 1,234 billion euro.
The number of contracts increased by 18% year-on-year, while the value of contracts increased by 7%.
This was the first year where the number of transactions grew, following a four-year decline.
To compare, 2005 and 2006 saw an abnormally high number of real estate transactions – 63 000 contracts per year. This was twice as much as 2010.
